Roughly fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they added.
Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked cars and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations show the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its source; authorities are presently not aware of any harm in connection with the incident," they stated.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have asked to the residents for information.
An important representative commented the vandalism left him stunned and needed to be addressed promptly.
"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on online, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of migrant background in 2020.
